Like David Weinberger chirrups, [your favorite subject] is Too Big To Know. Think about it: God? War? Culture? History? Too big to know. Yet, all in all, our quests continue, impulse and urge driving narrative in narrative.

Nani gigantum humeris insidentes: Twitter Palace, rooms with a view

I read, often, as wide and deep as time permits; and I’ve always felt journalism and education practice with similar purpose, where I learn something, either as news, or introduction, or awareness. My Twitter account is a virtual study room, and the people I read are, likewise, rooms with a view onto a river of epistemology, ontology driven by narrative. The palace glitters.

So much shiny, too little time

Like you, I have only so many minutes in a day, hours in a week, to direct my attention to things that matter to me. Although once popular, I quit using an RSS reader long ago, and I no longer go to Google News for their algorithmic “Big Gulp” review. Facebook was useful, but the attendant noise made me feel like I was in an amusement park–shell games and all. Anyway, after years of trial and error, sturm und drang, turns out, via Twitter, I get a fulfilling stream of thoughtful expression, human-driven.

Giants among giants

The influence, impact of each person I follow on Twitter is meaningful to me. And, most days, I read everything I follow. But, day in, day out, this list is the algorithm I use to publish my “front page” from a river of news.
